I was in my Gothic mood again.

Phantasma by ~justswell on deviantART

This is probably my last photomanipulation until the end of my A Levels. Inspired by Edgar Allan Poe's "The Masque of the Red Death" and Robert Graves' "The Pier Glass". I'm definitely considering Arts Illustator or Digital Artist as my alternative career. OR, I could fall back on designing webpages. Oh wells. Old, old, old. Time's catching up on me. I just had a backache again.

[EDIT] I'm featured in 2 entries! Whoot! Venice Mask contest and Twisted Fairytales Contest

The wonders of Dust

Thursday, September 17, 2009

Har Har. The Rain is back.

Thanks to that horrifying experience you call Prelims, my eyebags are growing bigger (who has eyebags at the age of 18?! And no, you're not allowed to answer that question.) You see, I was scrutinizing myself in the mirror on one fine day and had noticed the very distinct, very prominent eyebags that happily settled themselves beneath my red bloodshot eyes. I had a momentary fright at my reflection (not that it was the first).

"Spread, spread...spread my red eyes to someone..." I chanted and glanced across the canteen, eyes wide open. "Spread...spre-"

"Aiya Rain!" shouted the Yings in dismay. "Don't spread lei!"

I did some spring cleaning today. (I had this epiphany that my sneezing had nothing to do with the ever humid climate of Singapore) You have no idea how LONG I took to clean up that tiny bedroom of mine. A bookshelf, study desk, bed, cupboard...and it took up a good 3 hours of my already short life. (And you wonder why I complain about ageing too quickly.)

I have seriously underestimated the amount of dust in my room. (Since someone has taken to blogging about a bowl, I shall blog about the wonders of dust.) There was a good 1 cm thick layer of dust that settled on my top shelf and I bemused for a moment. The dust probably had its own population. I was intrigued. The dust, gleaming white under the light, stared back at me. I cleaned it, anyways. Couldn't leave it there to continue populating, could I? So there you go, the wonders of dust! Or the wonders of whyitkeepsoncomingbackwhenIcleanmyroomeverymonth!

My father thinks otherwise. "If I were you, I'd be more worried about that spider that frequents your room."

I am never gonna fall asleep tonight.
