A Freshman's Worry

Friday, July 30, 2010

My mind is wrought with trepidation. My heart unsettled. And the reason for it is quite simply due to the bidding of my modules. The bids are steadily increasing and all one could do is watch as an investor would to a Stock Market.

My selected modules are as follows: EN1101E, HY1101E, EC1101E, SE1101E.

JS1101E was a module of my interest. Upon further reading on the details and student reviews regarding this module however, the heavy projects it entails was enough deterrence to override my interest. I quite simply dropped the module and, for practicality, selected Southeast Asian Studies – a topic which I studied at length during my A Levels.

To ease my mental distraught, I decided to work on a new D.Gray-Man fanfiction which features the lovely Allen Walker and Kanda Yuu. The genres would be tragedy and drama.

Writing has always been a solace.

How does one sleep knowing the end of module bidding approaches in mere hours?

Wacom Tablet

Saturday, July 10, 2010

I would like to send out big thanks to Uncle Eric for the lovely birthday and Christmas presents! =D One of my presents included the Wacom Tablet which has been a desire of mine since my Secondary School days. =D

So in order to rekindle with my art spirit, I decided to practice painting a random eye. This is my first attempt using a tablet! ^_^ I had so much fun!

My next practice subject would be manga characters! =D

Shin Megami Tensei - Devils Survivor

Wednesday, July 7, 2010

Today, I'm introducing yet another RPG game called Shin Megami Tensei - Devils Survivor.

Stunning graphics, interesting story line, cute characters. This game promises to suck the soul out of you! xD

I finally figured out the problem with my TS3 game - apparently, one of the Hacks I downloaded wasn't agreeable with the latest patch so... I had to remove it. =/ I spent the entire day deleting Mods and sims3packages. I'm done playing around with modern houses! Asian themed lots are my favorites now! =D

Luminous Arc 2

Monday, July 5, 2010

I bought the Sims 3 expansion packs - Ambitions and World Adventures - just 2 days ago and was all eager to play... however, the game lagged severely and sometimes, the loading stopped. This gameplay issue was undoubtedly caused by the 2GB worth of package files I have sitting in my Mods folder.

Lesson learned: never download more than what your graphics card can handle. I am currently in the process of utilizing the s3pe Package Editor to merge my package files into bigger bundles to rectify the issue. Playing games can be so troublesome at times. -___-

On another note, I have been playing an RPG game - Luminous Arc 2.

Gameplay is excellent, requires a little use of your brain cells to figure out certain battle tactics. I'd give it a 9/10 rating! =D

Vampire Knight DS

Friday, July 2, 2010

I have been entertaining myself with popular Vampire Knight DS simulation game on my DS Lite. I love the manga and the anime... thus I felt it necessary to give the DS game a shot.

The game, produced by and released for the Japanese region, was anything but comprehensible to a locally brought up Singaporean like me. I may be an Otaku and love the Japanese culture and such, but my comprehension of the Japanese language falls short of what one may call sufficient for reading and writing.

I did not stop there however, and persisted with the game... randomly tapping the choices with my stylus and playing the mini games were small delightful pleasures. Luckily for me, I could understand roughly 40% of the spoken words (not reading, though!) by the various characters all thanks to my great love for the Japanese music and anime.

I ended up with my beloved, Kaname Kuran!!

So if you're an Otaku like I am and do not wish to succumb to language barriers, you should try playing. Trial and Error never hurts. Furthermore, you'll feel like you have just owned the universe. XDD
